A 61-year-old man was struck and killed as he crossed Route 9 in Middle Township on Wednesday, Nov. 15, authorities said. Lee Nelson, of Rio Grande in Cape May County, was heading east when he was hit by a northbound vehicle at 6:29 p.m., at the intersection with Route 47, Middle Township police said. The victim was airlifted to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City where he was pronounced dead at 7:52 p.m., police said. A dispute that led to an incendiary breakup ignited a murder-suicide in a private home in New Milford, multiple law enforcement and family sources told Daily Voice. A 26-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash in South Jersey, authorities said. On Saturday, Aug. 26, at 1:56 a.m., Middle Township Police responded to Route 9 and Church Street in the Rio Grande section of the township for a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle that struck a sport utility vehicle.
