Propane Tank Caused Home Explosion That Killed 45-Year-Old Jersey Shore Man: Prosecutor
A propane tank is to blame for the home explosion that killed a 45-year-old Jersey Shore man on Tuesday, Oct. 31, authorities said. Kevin Thomas, 45, was found on his front lawn of 253 Neptune Dr., with serious burns, and airlifted to Temple Burn Center in Philadelphia after the explosion that turned into a fire ravaged his house, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. A local police officer was injured on his way to assist New Jersey State Police at the scene of a crash that killed a 19-year-old woman on the Garden State Parkway, authorities said. Jessica Molina-Colmenares, 19, of Egg Harbor Township, was riding in a Honda Civic that veered off the Parkway and overturned around 6:30 p.m. in Stafford Township on Saturday, July 15, NJSP Sgt. Joy Ride: Man On Test Drive Takes Car To Atlantic City Casino, Police Say
A 47-year-old Ocean County man took a new car on a test drive and didn't return it, authorities said. The 2023 GMC Sierra was later discovered near the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, according to Stafford Township police. On Saturday, Feb. 18, at about 8:15 p.m., Stafford police received a call from Barlow GMC car dealership that a car had not been returned from a morning test drive. A 37-year-old man wanted on a warrant was arrested on the Jersey Shore on multiple drug charges involving methamphetamine and heroin, authorities said. Firefighters, police and EMS crews in Ocean County responded to a serious rush-hour crash, authorities said. Several people suffered multiple injuries in the collision shortly before 4 p.m. on Thursday, reports said. A 25-year-old Barnegat man will spend seven years behind bars for a crash that killed his 24-year-old passenger in March 2020, in which speed and alcohol were both factors, authorities said Thursday. Jeydon Lowe pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and DWI on Jan. 17, and was sentenced before Superior Court Judge Linda G. Baxter, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. An 11-year-old child was seriously hurt on Sunday night when his sled crashed in Ocean County, authorities said. The child struck his head after falling off about 11 p.m. in the 100 block of Riptide Avenue in Stafford Township, according to initial reports. Prosecutor: Ocean County Man Admits Role In Fatal Alcohol-Related Crash
A 24-year-old man from Ocean County has admitted to causing the death of a passenger in his car while driving drunk, authorities said. Jeydon Lowe of Barnegat pleaded guilty on Wednesday to vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
