NJ High School Teacher, 68, Punched Female Student In Head: Prosecutor
A 68-year-old Bayonne High School teacher was arrested after punching a female student in the head, authorities said.
Joseph Mingoia, who lives in Bayonne, has been on administrative leave since the Jan. 22 incident, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said on Monday, March 4.
That day, “two students were involved in an altercation on school property,” the prosecutor said. “After multiple staff members intervened, Mingoia struck a female juvenile in the head with a closed hand.”

UPDATE: A New Jersey political consultant was sentenced to 24 years in federal prison for hiring two hitmen to kill a longtime associate from Hudson County.
Sean Caddle, 45, of Hamburg, will have to serve just about all of the plea-bargained sentence because there's no parole in the federal prison system.

A Jersey City ex-con accused of shooting two clerks during a mid-evening armed robbery spree last month was charged by federal authorities along with a Newark woman who they said was with him.
Rodney Williams, 29, and Siobhan Chandler, 19, were captured after Williams crashed their getaway during a police chase following four holdups in under an hour on Nov. 14, authorities said.
All told, the couple robbed a Danforth Avenue deli, a Garfield Avenue gas station, a Communipaw Avenue supermarket and and a fast-food restaurant at Communipaw and Crescent avenues, they said.

Three ranking MS-13 members from El Salvador were convicted by federal jurors in Newark of the murder of an innocent 19-year-old dishwasher from West New York, among other charges stemming from their participation in the international gang.
