UPDATE: Two people were killed when their classic car was rear-ended overnight on the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities confirmed. An 18-year-old Jersey Shore senior due to graduate from high school next month was killed in a crash, authorities said. Lauren Hewski, a senior at Saint John Vianney High School in Holmdel, was identified as the victim in the fatal wreck at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday May 11 on Laird Road in Colts Neck, according to multiple media accounts. Authorities are seeking witnesses of a collision that killed a 40-year-old dirt bike rider in Monmouth County Friday, Oct. 14. Clifford Walton was operating the Kawasaki dirt bike that collided with a Jeep Cherokee on Arlington Avenue and Gordon Street in Aberdeen around 6 p.m., Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. An off-duty City of Passaic police officer reported being shot at in Clifton on the way home from work earlier this week, authorities from both cities confirmed.
