Gas Attendant Stole Thousands From Customers At Central Jersey Wawa: Prosecutors
A former Monmouth County gas station attendant was accused of stealing thousands of dollars from customers, authorities said. Patrick Brown, 48, of Newark, was indicted by a grand jury on 52 counts, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago announced in a news release on Wednesday, Apr. 24. He was charged with 13 counts each of third-degree credit card fraud, third-degree false uttering, third-degree theft, and fourth-degree credit card theft. Services have been set for Dennis John Frick, of Freehold Township, who died in a crash on Route 1 Wednesday, March 6. He was 65 years old. Visitation is on Sunday, March 10 for Dennis, who became a senior vice president with Heller Construction where he worked for 35 years, according to his obituary published by Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home. Cybersecurity, Electrical Issues Close, Delay 2 New Jersey School Districts
One New Jersey school district is closed and another delayed Monday, Jan. 29 due to electrical and cybersecurity issues. All Freehold Township schools are closed due to a "cybersecurity event," Dr. Dianne Martello Brethauer, the assistant Freehold schools superintendent, said on X. Brethauer did not elaborate. Egg Harbor Township schools will operate on a 2-hour delayed opening schedule due to a "major electrical and mechanical issue affecting all of our schools," its website says.

Teen Charged In Double Fatal Route 9 Crash: Prosecutor
A Howell teenager has been charged in connection with a collision that killed two teens and injured two others in Freehold Township last year, authorities said. The defendant was 17 at the time of the crash, and because of his age, his identity is being withheld, they said. Pedestrian Killed In Jersey Shore Crosswalk Was Guyanese Swimmer
A 34-year-old swimmer visiting from Guyana — or the "Land of Many Waters" — was struck and killed by a vehicle while in a crosswalk in Freehold Township, authorities said. Robert Taylor was struck by a southbound driver on Route 9 at Schibanoff Lane on Monday, Jan. 9 around 7 a.m., according to authorities and those who knew Taylor. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. Taylor was a mentor with the Guyana Amateur Swimming Association.
