Crash With Injuries Jams Route 55 In South Jersey A crash with injuries jammed up traffic on Route 55 in Gloucester County, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29 on the northbound ramp to Exit 56 (Route 47) in Deptford Township, according to the New Jersey Department of Transporation. The right shoulder was closed, 511nj.com reported.

Driver, 31, Dead In Route 55 Crash Authorities have identified the man who died in a crash on Route 55 Tuesday. A Cadillac was heading south in the right lane of the highway when it struck a Chevrolet Express van in the left lane around 4:40 p.m. in Deptford, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. The Cadillac side swiped the van, then traveled off of the roadway to the right and struck a tree. near milepost 55.4, Marchan said. The Cadillac driver, 31-year-old Nahum Ramirez- Lopez, of Vineland, was pronounced dead.  The crash remains under investigation and there is no additional information available …

NJ Corrections Officer Dies In Route 55 Crash, PA Driver Seriously Injured A 25-year-old man died when a car struck his vehicle while stopped in the shoulder of Route 55, authorities said. Joshua Beardsworth, of Pittsgrove Township, was stopped in his BMW on the right shoulder of the highway when a car -- also on the northbound side -- struck him in Vineland around 7:40 p.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry said. The 27-year-old driver from Lansdale, PA -- Trevor Annunziata, who was driving a Volkswagon -- was hospitalized with serious injuries, while Beardsworth was killed.
