Pedestrian Hit By Vehicle, Killed In Toms River: Prosecutors A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed in Toms River, authorities said. In a news release, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said the pedestrian was hit near the intersection of Route 166 and Hilltop Road. The crash happened at around 8:25 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1. Toms River police said the crash closed Route 166 between Lomell Lane and Mapletree Road. The county sheriff's department and prosecutor's office are helping in the investigation. Jersey Shore Man Admits Robbing Wawa, Shoprite, 7-Eleven, Other Stores: Prosecutor A Jersey Shore man has pleaded guilty to robbing several stores and burglarizing a home, authorities said. Thomas Jann, 34, of Beachwood, pled guilty to six counts of robbery and one count of burglary, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.  The string of alleged crimes occurred between July 27, 2020, and Dec. 31, 2020, in Toms River,  Berkeley Township and Beachwood, the prosecutor said.
