Man Sentenced In Jersey Shore Cocaine-Dealing Ring
A Monmouth County man will spend several years in prison after he was part of a cocaine-selling network throughout New Jersey, authorities said. Mark Capichana, 56, of Keyport, was sentenced on Friday, Feb. 2 to 14 years in prison, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced. Capichana received two seven-year sentences that will run consecutively after entering a guilty plea. Capichana was arrested as part of "Operation Checkmate," an investigation between June and October 2021. A patrolman at the Jersey Shore has been arrested and charged with engaging in a pattern of illegal behavior with a teenage girl, authorities said. Kevin Ruditsky, 46, who works in Manalapan Township, is believed to have sent the 16-year-old girl sexually explicit photos and handcuffed her during a traffic stop, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago. Authorities have released a photo of a 15-year-old girl who ran away from home. At approximately 11:22 a.m. Friday, Marlboro police received a call from the mother residing at 20 Silvers Road in Marlboro who said she was involved in an argument with her daughter, and her daughter had left the house. A 29-year-old man from the Jersey Shore has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child in connection to his son's suspicious death, authorities said. Christopher Gregor of Barnegat reportedly surrendered to Barnegat police Friday, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. Driver Killed In U-Haul Truck Crash ID'd As Spotswood Woman, 53
Marlboro police released the name of the driver who died on Monday after her car toppled a telephone pole and collided with a parked U-Haul truck. Donna Piegaro, 53, of Spotswood was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which closed Route 9 southbound for more than nine hours from Old Bridge to Manalapan Township, a Marlboro police spokesman said.
