An inmate escaped police custody while going to a doctor's appointment, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Aug. 22. Joshua Allen Nicholl, 26, of Greencastle was "temporarily authorized" to go to the "outside doctor's appointment" from the Franklin County Jail on Aug. 9, according to the state police release. By 6:41 p.m. officers became concerned that Nicholl hadn't returned, PSP Chambersburg was notified, and a warrant for Nicholl's arrest issued was soon issued. 4 Children Under 5 Years Old Shot At Over Parents' Fireworks: PA State Police
Four children were among the eight people shot at when their neighbor became irate over their fireworks, according to court documents obtained by Daily Voice. Dalea Joann Carbaugh, 45, of Greencastle, heard the fireworks on Independence Day and came out of the rear door of her home on Hager Road, Peters Township to yell at her neighbors to stop set them off around 8:45 p.m., Pennsylvania State Police explained in the affidavit of probable cause. Maryland Man Captured By PA State Police Fleeing Hit-Run In Chambersburg: Authorities
A Maryland man struck a pedestrian and fled in Chambersburg on Wednesday, Jan. 4, authorities say. Edio Estuardo-Melendrez of Hagerstown, was arrested fleeing the scene at the intersection of S. Second and E. Mckinley streets around 9:20 p.m. by Pennsylvania state police, according to the Chambersburg police department. The pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital, the police explain in a release. Chambersburg Felon Who Endangered Children Escapes
A warrant has been issued for a woman serving probation for felon endangering the welfare of children but never returned for her work release job on Thursday, Dec. 8 authorities say. 27-year-old Kathleen Elizabeth Castro-Zavala of Chambersburg was released, only serving 28 days in prison, after being found guilty of a felony endangering welfare of children charge in 2020, court records detail.
