Tyvon Gray, 34, of Cheltenham, has been identified as the driver who died Wednesday night after losing control and crashing off a roadway, officials say.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m. on May 30, troopers were called to the westbound lanes of Livingston Road near Marbury Freeland Place in Indian Head, where there was a reported crash.

Investigators say that Gray was driving a Chevrolet west on Livingston Road when, for unknown reasons, lost control, traveled off the roadway and crashed.

He was pronounced dead at the crash scene by first responders. The initial investigation determined that weather may have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.

The crash led to a closure of Livingston Road for more than six hours while personnel from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration responded to the scene to assist.
