Pets Rescued, Treated Following Basement Fire Inside Maryland Home
Several pets had to be treated and a person was displaced following a weekend house fire in Prince George's County, officials say. At approximately 6:15 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, first responders were called to a two-story residence in the 6600 block of Karlson Court in Chillum, where there was "a home with excessive storage conditions and fire in the basement." An investigation has been launched in Maryland after a woman was found dead with her perished pets inside a Prince George's County home. Shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon, members of the Prince George's County Fire Department were called to the 5200 block to investigate a reported house fire inside a single-family home. Upon arrival, they found that the fire was already extinguished, though a woman was found dead inside, alongside two dogs and a cat.
