A District man died after his SUV veered off the roadway at a high rate of speed and crashed in Calvert County on Monday afternoon, according to the sheriff's office. Andrew Francis Evans II, 43, was pronounced dead at the scene of the Dec. 9 crash after veering off the road on MD Rt. 4 near Cedarwood Lane in Dunkirk, officials said. Speed and alcohol may have been a factor in a fatal single-vehicle rollover crash that claimed the life of a 64-year-old Baltimore man in Charlotte Hall, officials say. Deputies from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office were called at approximately 7 p.m. on Sept. 1 to investigate a reported crash in the center median in the area of Route 5 and Oak Station Drive.
