A concerned local is being hailed as a hero after saving an 8-year-old boy who was taken by a woman while waiting for his school bus in Charles County on Thursday morning, according to the sheriff's office. The J.C. Parks Elementary School student was near his bus stop in Bryans Road shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 19 when he was approached by local resident Krystal Ninette Clay, who asked him to get in her Chevy in the area of Hard Bargain Circle and Montrose Road. A 28-year-old Maryland man who accosted and sexually assaulted a woman during an a harrowing drive in Virginia is behind bars, police say. Hyattsville resident Brayan Anthony Acevedo was arrested overnight in Prince William County following a reported incident where he abused a woman and refused to let her get out of his car. A 17-year-old has been sentenced to decades in prison for his role in the murder of a man they abducted after an altercation in a DC nightclub, the Charles County State's Attorney's Office announced. Nijuan Wilson was sentenced by a judge to life in prison with all but 30 years suspended in connection to the death of Deangelo Beale last summer.
