Opening In Concrete Barrier Contributed To I-695 Fatal Construction Worker Crash: NTSB
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has released the agency’s initial findings after Wednesday midday crash on I-695 in Woodlawn that claimed the lives of six workers in a construction zone. At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, an Acura TLX passenger vehicle being driven by Randallstown resident Lisa Adrienne Lea, 54, was traveling north on the Beltway near an active work zone in the center portion of the interstate before setting off the fatal chain reaction crash. Driver Killed In Fiery Crash Outside Maryland Firehouse
One person was found dead in the burning wreckage of a pick-up truck that went up in flames just outside of a Maryland firehouse. Maryland State Fire Marshals and state police officials were called to investigate a fatal motor vehicle crash at approximately 12 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 23 in Wicomico County, authorities announced. The investigation determined that a 2001 Dodge pickup truck left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck metal bollards near the West Side Fire Station on Nanticoke Road in Bivalve. Maryland Driver Who Denied Treatment At Crash Scene Dies Next Day: Police
A 44-year-old Maryland driver who refused medical treatment after a motor vehicle crash was later found unresponsive and died the next day, authorities said. Edwin Portillo was involved in the crash at the intersection of Watkins Mill Road and Crested Iris Drive in Gaithersburg on Jan. 8 around 2 p.m., Montgomery County police said. He denied medical care, but around 5:45 p.m., firefighters were called to the 19300 block of Montgomery Village Avenue for an unresponsive person, where they found Portillo.
