Rockville Driver Found With Loaded, Stolen Weapons As Police Shut Down NYE Car Rallies: Cops
A collaborative law enforcement effort dismantled multiple illegal car rallies across Maryland on New Year’s Eve, leading to the arrests of three individuals, including one found with firearms, authorities said.
From 11 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2024, to 4 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2025, the Maryland Car Rally Task Force (MCRTF) shut down four large-scale exhibition driving events and prevented another five from forming, authorities said.

Karen Huger DUI Arrest
"Real Housewives of Potomac" star Karen Huger has been arrested for DUI following a luxury car crash earlier this week, police said.
Huger, 60, crossed a median and struck street signs on Oaklyn Drive and Beeman Woods Way in Potomac, around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Police Department said.
Huger, who was driving a 2017 Maserati, was arrested and cited for driving under the influence and other traffic violations, then released, police said.
DNA Connects California Rapist To 1992 Maryland Attack: Cops
A California man has been charged in a 1992 Maryland rape case, authorities said.
Xavier Battice, now 62 years old, followed his victim after she got off of a bus near the 5400 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase on Sept. 24, 1992, Montgomery County police said on Tuesday, Dec. 19.
Battice, 31 at the time, followed the victim, took her to a nearby park and raped her before leaving the scene, police said.
