Basketball Fight To Blame For Shooting At Maryland LA Fitness, Police Say
A fight over a basketball game that nearly turned deadly at a Prince George's County gym landed a Landover man with serious criminal charges, police say. Nelson Ballard III, 24, has been identified and charged for his alleged role in a shooting that was reported at LA Fitness in the 9400 block of Ruby Lockhart Boulevard in Glenarden last week, resulting in one man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. An 18-year-old Silver Spring boy has been arrested after sexually assaulting at least two women inside an L.A. Fitness in Bethesda, authorities say. Samba Dieng is accused of sexually assaulting two female members of the gym in the 11400 block of Rockville Pike while they were showering in the women's locker room on the night of Friday, Oct. 21, according to Montgomery County police. Two Suspects Arrested In String Of Thefts, Assaulting Gym Member At LA Fitness In MoCo: Police
Two suspects have been arrested for committing a series of thefts at an LA Fitness in Silver Spring and assaulting a gym member in the process, police say. Misgana Kebde, 18, and Kai Torela, 19 were arrested and charged for committing the thefts from June to October 2021 at the gym on Bel Road, according to Montgomery County Police. On June 15, Kebede assaulted a gym member after they accused him of stealing his headphones. Kebede fled the scene before police arrive. Both Kebde and Torela are also accused of stealing debit and credit cards from lockers and vehicles parked at the location. …
