Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Train At Maryland Metro Station (

One person was struck and killed by a train early on Wednesday afternoon in Prince George's County, according to officials. An alert was issued by a Prince George's County Fire and EMS spokesperson advising that at approximately 1:35 p.m. on May 15, a person was struck by a train. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Metro Red Line Closures Draw Complaints From Commuters In DC
Some commuters in DC are up in arms as the WMATA closes down certain Red Line trains to allow for necessary repairs during the holiday season. A fare evader went through extreme measures to - unsuccessfully - avoid being apprehended by Metro Transit Police officers during the evening commute. Late on Monday afternoon, some commuters were held up when a traveler hopped the turnstile and took a stroll down the tracks at the Naylor Road Metro Station. The ongoing labor dispute between CSX Transportation and its labor unions could have a major impact on riders in Maryland and Virginia.
