Police say that a man has been brought back to Washington, DC following the fatal shooting of a 57-year-old Maryland man last fall.
In December last year, US Marshals arrested 21-year-old Jamari Payne, who has no fixed address, in Pennsylvania in connection to the murder of Silver Spring resident Bacilio Villatoro, authorities announced.
On Tuesday, Aug. 15, the Metropolitan Police Department announced that he had been extradited back to DC, where he was charged with second-degree murder while armed.

Southwest, DC resident Dwayne Brooks, Jr., 25, has been charged with first-degree murder while armed for his role in the fatal shooting of Henry in August last year.
At approximately 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, officers from the department responded to the 800 block of 7th Street, where they found Henry suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

A Virginia man who was found naked and covered in blood after dragging his victim’s dead body out of his own Washington, DC apartment in 2019 has admitted to his crime, authorities said.
Collin Potter, 30, of Quantico, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder while armed for the butchering of Vongell Lugo on Jan. 6, 2019, in which Potter stabbed his victim 42 times, federal officials said.
