7 Killed In 4 Crashes Across Maryland During Deadly 35-Hour Stretch: State Police
Maryland roads turned deadly again and again over the weekend.
Seven people were killed in four separate crashes between early Saturday, Aug. 29, and Sunday afternoon, including a mother and daughter from Virginia and three people who died in the weekend's final wreck, according to Maryland State Police.
The crashes stretched across Carroll, Montgomery, Harford and Allegany counties, with three unfolding in less than 24 hours.
The first came shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday.

More than 114,000 infant car seats are being recalled because their carrying handles can partially detach, increasing the risk that a child could fall and be injured.
Britax Child Safety issued the recall for 114,660 B-Safe infant car seats, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report submitted on Thursday, Aug. 20. The recall covers several models, including B-Safe Gen 2, B-Safe Gen 2 Flexfit, B-Safe Gen 2 Flexfit Plus, B-Safe 35, B-Safe Ultra, and Endeavours.

Firefighters Extinguish Maryland Electrical Fire, Return Hours Later To Raging Blaze
They thought they had put the fire out.
Hours later, a Maryland home was engulfed in flames.
The strange sequence began shortly after 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, when a resident on Walnut Lane in Elkton reported smoke inside the attic, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
Firefighters arrived at approximately 9:08 p.m. and found a small, smoldering fire involving the home's electrical system.
Crews quickly extinguished it, secured power to the three-story home, and eventually cleared the scene.
