Several Maryland cities were ranked among the US’s most culturally diverse in a new study by personal finance company WalletHub.
The study breaks down the cultural diversity of more than 500 cities using key indicators like ethnoracial diversity, linguistic diversity, and birthplace diversity, according to 2024 US Census Bureau data.

A Maryland native died while serving in the Israeli Defense Forces, those who knew him said.
Omer Balva, 22, of Rockville, died on Friday, Oct. 20, by an antitank missile fired by Hezbollah from Lebanon, the IDF confirmed.
Balva, a dual American-Israeli citizen, was a commander in the 9203rd Battalion of the Alexandroni Brigade, from Herzliya.
