A man has been sentenced after committing five bank robberies in Adams, Cumberland, and York Counties in under four months just two months after spending over a decade in a Maryland State Prison, according to an updated release by the US Department of Justice on Monday, Feb. 5.
James Henderson Bryant III, 46, of Westminster, Maryland, was sentenced to 14 years in prison on Thursday, Feb. 1, the USDOJ detailed in the release.

A volunteer firefighter in Maryland who sparked, not fought several blazes at vacant homes in Prince George's County has been sentenced, the state's attorney announced.
Jeremy Hawkins, a former West Lanham Hills Volunteer firefighter, has been sentenced to 15 years each on two counts of arson, with all but time served suspended, followed by three years supervised probation and a requirement to serve 120 hours of community service, according to Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy.

A man with a checkered criminal history has been sentenced for firing a gun at his victims during an armed robbery of his acquaintance’s child’s father in Maryland, according to the Charles County State’s Attorney.
Aaron William Saunders, 25, was sentenced to 30 years, with all but 15 years suspended in prison for armed robbery, use of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence, and related charges following an incident in November 2020.

Citing “predatory behavior,” a judge sentenced a Pennsylvania man to more than a decade behind bars in Maryland for attempting to run down his victim in May last year, authorities announced.
Pennsylvania resident Jeffrey Scott Osborne, 50, of Kemblesville, has been sentenced to 30 years, with all but 13 years suspended for attempted second-degree murder, Judge Mark Chandlee ordered.
In addition to his prison term, Osborne was ordered to serve five years of supervised probation upon his release, which cannot happen until he has served at least half his sentence, Chandlee said.
