Man, 76, Killed In Accidental Two-Alarm Baltimore County Electrical Fire
An accidental electrical fire in Baltimore County resulted in the 10th fatality reported in 2024 after a 76-year-old man died at the hospital. Fire crews were called at around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday night to the 500 block of Shamrock Lane in PIkesville, when a two-alarm blaze broke out. Upon arrival, firefighters were met by flames coming from the home, and during a search of the residence, they found Poe in a second-floor bedroom. Man Killed In House Blaze May Have Been Trying To Extinguish It: Maryland Fire Marshal
A 55-year-old man was killed - while possibly trying to extinguish - an attic fire that broke out in a Cecil County home on Friday morning, according to the Maryland Fire Marshal. Jeffrey Scot Jackson has been preliminarily identified by fire investigators as the person who was pulled from a Cooper Street home by members of the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun. A smart home feature has saved a Colesville family after waking them up to get them out of their burning home, authorities say. The residents of the home on the 12600 block of Davan Drive were alerted of smoke in the house by an Amazon Alexa device around 1:45 a.m., Monday, Sept. 19, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue officials.
