Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Man Accused Of Threatening Victim With Knife At Valley Stream Gym A Long Island man was arrested after allegedly threatening another man with a knife at a gym. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the 24-Hour Fitness on West Sunrise Highway in Valley Stream.  Edwin Cortez, age 47, is accused of displaying a knife during an argument with a 40-year-old man, according to Nassau County Police.  Cortez was arrested at the scene without incident, and no injuries were reported. 2 Firefighters Injured After Blaze Breaks Out At Woodmere Home A house fire on Long Island left two firefighters injured. The blaze broke out at about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in Woodmere at a home on Mosher Avenue. Responders arrived to find flames emanating from the rear of the residence. All occupants were evacuated safely, while multiple fire departments, led by the Woodmere Fire Department, worked to extinguish the blaze. Fatal House Fire Breaks Out In Mattituck A house fire on Long Island claimed one life. A 911 call reporting a blaze at a residence in Mattituck on the 4500 block of Middle Road in Mattituck on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 9:45 a.m.  Multiple fire departments arrived, and while three individuals managed to escape unharmed, a body was later discovered inside. The Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the identity and cause of death for the victim.  Detectives from the Suffolk County Homicide Squad and Arson Section are investigating the incident. Woman In Parked Car Hospitalized After Uniondale Hit-Run A woman was hospitalized following a hit-run crash on Long Island. Nassau County police said the crash occurred Friday, Nov. 15, at about 8 p.m. on Nassau Road in Uniondale.  The woman, age 81, was in a parked white Toyota Avalon near 785 Nassau Road when a red Chrysler Town & Country with Texas plates struck the rear of her vehicle.  The driver, described only as a man, fled the scene and later abandoned the Chrysler.
