The first day of the new eligibility is Thursday, March 11, Baker said during his daily press conference n Wednesday, March 3.

“Everyone who wants the shot will eventually get one,” Baker said.

To avoid the long lines and frustration that has plagued the state’s vaccine rollout, Baker said there will be special times and days when Massachusetts educators and staff can make inoculation appointments. Details about when that might be are yet to be released.

Currently, in Massachusetts people ages 65 and up as well as people with two serious illnesses (or one very serious illness) are eligible to receive the vaccine.
