More Than 660K Washing Machines Recalled Due To Fire Hazard A company is recalling 663,500 washing machines after receiving reports of the machines overheating and causing fires.  Samsung issued the recall of "Top-Load Washing Machines" on Thursday, Dec. 22, because the products could short-circuit and overheat. The company said it has received 51 reports of washers smoking, melting, overheating, or catching fire. Two Dozen Gravestones Damaged At Massachusetts Cemetery, Police Say Around two dozen gravestones were damaged at a Massachusetts cemetery over the weekend, authorities said. Cambridge Police said the gravestones were "pushed over and damaged" after they responded to North Cambridge Cemetry on Rindge Avenue around 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 5.  A resident who was visiting their family member's grave noticed a headstone was loose and notified police, Universal Hub reports.   The estimated property damage was said to be more than $12,000, according to police. The investigation is ongoing.

Western Mass Drive-By Shooting Causes Extensive Damage, Police Say A drive-by shooting in Western Massachusetts, the second in several days, caused extensive damage to the victim's home and vehicle. The incident took place in Hampden County around midnight on Wednesday, Aug. 18,  in Holyoke.  Officers responded to Homestead Avenue for reported shots fired, Holyoke PD Captain Matthew Moriarty said.
