A New York woman was killed in a Christmas morning crash in Connecticut. It happened around 9:05 a.m. in Middlesex County on the I-91 northbound Exit 20 onramp in Middletown. Toyota Recalling 1.8M RAV4s Over Hazardous Batteries
Toyota is recalling more than 1.8 million of its RAV4s over hazardous batteries. According to a press release issued on Wednesday, Nov. 1, some replacement 12-volt batteries of the size specified for 2013 to 2018 RAV4 models have smaller top dimensions than others. If a small-top battery is used for replacement and the hold-down clamp is not tightened correctly, the battery could move and potentially short-circuit, increasing risk of a fire. Drunk Driver Hits, Drags Woman In Salem: Police
Salem police are urging drivers to exercise caution on Halloween night after an alleged drunk driver seriously injured a woman after dragging her beneath a Toyota Rav 4 on Saturday, Oct. 28. Vasiliy Orlov, 43, of Salem, was arrested and charged in the crash, Salem police said. This is his third OUI charge. Toyota is conducting a large safety recall involving some late-model pickup trucks. The auto giant announced that approximately 168,000 of its 2022 and 2023 Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles are subject to the recall due to a possible fire hazard. According to the company, the vehicles included in the recall have a plastic fuel tube that can move and rub against a brake line, causing a fuel leak, which could lead to fires.
