Strike Ends, Students Return To Woburn Schools Woburn teachers are heading back to the classroom with a little more cash in their paychecks after reaching a tentative agreement between with the school committee and Mayor Scott Galvin. The Woburn Teacher's Association reached the agreement on Sunday, Feb. 5, just in time to return to school on Monday, Feb. 6. The strike lasted a week, beginning on Monday, Jan. 30, with demands for increased pay, smaller class sizes, and compensation for all workdays. Boston Starbucks Employees Join More Than 100 Stores Nationwide On Picket Lines Workers at more than 100 Starbucks locations across the country — including several in Boston — went on strike Thursday because they say the company will not negotiate in good faith and is trying to stop more stores from unionizing.
