Car Slams Head-On Into Cement Truck In Ipswich; Amesbury Woman Seriously Hurt It took firefighters more than 15 minutes to cut a 55-year-old woman from her car after she collided nearly head-on with a cement truck in Essex County Monday afternoon, Aug. 28.  Ipswich police and firefighters were called to 282 High Street (Route 1A) around 2:15 p.m. to reports of the crash.  Witnesses told responders that the Amesbury woman's 2019 Subaru Outback drifted over the center line and into the path of a Rowley Ready Mix cement truck, Ipswich police said.  Firefighters leaped into action with hydraulic tools to cut her car apart and stretch the steel to free her…

Person Drowns At Pavilion Beach In Ipswich: Police Authorities in Ipswich are investigating after a person drowned over the weekend. Ipswich Police and Fire Departments responded to a person in distress at Pavilion Beach around 5:17 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, both departments said in a joint release. Crews pulled the individual from the water, who wished to remain unidentified, before taking them to a local hospital where they later died.  The incident is under investigation.

Sprinklers Prevent Further Damage To Classic Cars Ipswich Storage Unit Fire officials on the North Shore are applauding more than just their own crews for containing a fire and preventing further damage at a classic car storage unit in Ipswich over the weekend.  Firefighters responded to the fire at Clam Town Classics, located at 11 Old Right Road, just before noon on Saturday, June 25, the Ipswich Fire Department said.  Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke coming from the building, which houses several classic cars.
