(Update) Tanker Truck Crash Causes Fuel Spill, Road Closure In Billerica: Police
Update: Officials are investigating the three-vehicle crash involving a tanker truck carrying several thousand gallons of fuel on Route 3 north in Billerica on Wednesday morning, Nov. 15. Evidence, including a dash-cam video, shows that the driver of the tanker wasn't responsible for causing the crash, the Massachusetts State Police said in its latest update. Authorities are also investigating whether either driver of the other two vehicles should be charged or cited. Delays were expected after a double tractor-trailer crash and fuel spill shut down half of a major highway just outside of Boston, officials said. The crash happened near Exit 2 on I-93 North in Canton on Wednesday morning, Feb. 22, according to MassDOT. A tractor trailer filled with sand rolled over and began leaking fuel on I-93, causing the driver to be ejected from the vehicle and leading to closures on part of the I-95 to I-93 interchange, according to officials.
