Chelmsford Police Officer Dies 2 Weeks After Cancer Diagnosis An active-duty Chelmsford police officer who "put others before himself" died suddenly after a short but "courageous" battle with cancer.  Timothy Bourke, a lifelong resident of Chelmsford and police officer since 1993, died on Sunday, May 7, according to the Chelmsford Police Department.  Bourke was diagnosed with cancer only two weeks before his death.  "We will miss his laughter, smile, and willingness to put others before himself always," said the announcement made by the Chelmsford Police Department. Police Officer, 2 Others Hospitalized After 3-Car Boston Crash: Police A police officer was among three people injured in a late-night car crash in a Boston neighborhood, officials say. The vehicles collided at approximately 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5 near Park Street and Dorchester Street in Dorchester, according to the Boston Police Department.  All three of the drivers of the involved vehicles suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital.None of the vehicles had passengers on board.  The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Boston Cop Stabbed With Hypodermic Needle As He Tried To Arrest Flare-Firing Vandal: Police A Boston officer is recovering after a 35-year-old man stabbed him with a hypodermic needle over the weekend as police tried to arrest him. The man faces several charges stemming from the incident.  Police received several calls around 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, about a man standing atop a cargo container outside the Boston Harbor Hotel on Rowes Wharf and firing flares at nearby boats, authorities said.
