A Berkshire County man who was found guilty of swindling more than a dozen homeowners and at least one fire department out of hundreds of thousands of dollars for construction work he never completed will spend up to the next decade behind bars, authorities said. Fred Senter, of Pittsfield, was found guilty of five counts of larceny Over $250 from a victim over 60 years of age, 19 counts of theft of over $1,200, stealing less than $1,200, the Berkshire County District Attorney's Office said. Double-Fatal Crash: Man, Woman From Massachusetts Struck By Compact SUV In NY Crosswalk
Police are investigating a horrific double-fatal overnight crash in the region. It happened around 8:20 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 near the New York/Massachusetts border in Columbia County, in the town of New Lebanon. New York State Police said an investigation determined a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek operated by Western Massachusetts resident Erica C. Remains Found In MA Believed To Be Missing HS Teacher

Investigators have recovered human remains in Western Massachusetts believed to be that of missing New York high school teacher Meghan Marohn, age 42, of Delmar in Albany County, an English teacher at Shaker High School in Latham.
