Support Pours In For Chicopee Baby In Need Of Heart Transplant

Austin Headlee was a normal 6-month-old baby when a routine doctor's visit upended his family's life. Physicians diagnosed him with severe end-stage heart failure, meaning he would need a heart transplant soon.

Austin Parker Headlee was diagnosed with severe end-stage heart failure at just 6 months old. Friends of his parents have created a fundraiser to help pay for his medical bills and help them make ends meet.

Austin is now a patient at Boston Children's Hospital and needs a Berlin Heart Mechanical Heart to keep his little heart beating until a donor organ can be found. His parents' friends have stepped up and created a GoFundMe to allow them to stay with the baby as they go through the most trying time of their lives.

Friends who created the fundraiser said along with the stress of having a sick child, they're also struggling to pay the mounting medical bills and make.

The campaign hopes to raise $50,000 to take away some of that stress.

This experience is completely financially devaluing the family. Medical bills are piling up, and the emotional toll of this journey is immeasurable. That's why I am reaching out to our community, friends, and loved ones for support. Your generosity can make a world of difference in Austin's life. Every donation, and spread of Austin’s story can help brings hope and strength to this brave little fighter and his family. Your contributions will go towards covering the medical expenses, as well as hidden expenses: travel, accommodations, and lost wages.Let's rally together to provide Austin with the chance he deserves—a chance to experience the joy and beauty that life has to offer. To grow and be able to do the things he loves, with the people he loves and love him back. Your support will not only alleviate the financial strain on the Headlee family but also serve as a beacon of hope during this incredibly difficult time.

The fundraiser has raised more than $33,000 from 281 donors as of Friday afternoon, Feb. 16.
