The blaze broke out at a home on the 15600 block of Everglade Lane in Bowie shortly after 1:05 p.m., the PGFD said.
Crews responded and found flames coming through the roof of the structure, prompting a second alarm.
Three residents were rescued from balconies and were being evaluated at the scene, the fire department added. A dog was also rescued.
No injuries were reported.
