12-Year-Old Struck By Vehicle In Damascus: Police
A 12-year-old is in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle in Montgomery County Thursday morning, April 4, according to police. It happened near Ridge Road and Oak Drive in Damascus just before 7:50 a.m., a spokesperson with the Montgomery County Police Department told Daily Voice. The 12-year-old was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police added. No further details were released.

A Maryland father has been accused of causing “severe injuries” to his infant, authorities announced on Wednesday, Jan. 10. Oliver Hernandez Caballero, 25, of Damascus, was charged with two counts of first-degree child abuse, the Montgomery County Police Department said. Investigators say the child was taken to Shady Grove Hospital with eating and breathing difficulties after being home alone with Caballero around 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28.
