Child Among Nearly Dozen Injured In Explosive Silver Spring Apartment Building Blaze (Updates) At least ten people including a small child with burns were hospitalized in a fire that tore through an apartment complex in Silver Spring on Thursday, March 3.  The second-alarm fire broke out at a four-story home at the Friendly Garden Apartments on Lyttonsville Road. The fire was first reported around 10:30 a.m., according to Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich.
