A 23-year-old Hampshire County woman who police say stabbed her boyfriend five times during a fight at their home will return to court next week. Jean Marie Echevarria, of Easthampton, who is charged with murder in the killing of Brennan Bleau, 23, was indicted on July 20, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. She will be arraigned on Wednesday, Aug. 9. She previously pleaded not guilty to the murder charge. Police have released the identity of the man stabbed to death last week in Springfield. Investigators said his roommate wielded the knife. Daniel Medina, 49, was found bleeding from a stab wound inside his home on Euclid Avenue early in the morning of Thursday, July 27, Springfield police said. Man Stabs Roommate To Death In Western Mass: Police
A 63-year-old Springfield man was arrested on Thursday, July 27, after his roommate was stabbed to death earlier that morning, authorities said. Robert Woods, 63, is charged with murder in connection with the death, Springfield police said. Police responded to Woods' apartment on Euclid Avenue just before 5 a.m. to calls of a medical emergency.
