Full Hunter’s Moon Will Brighten October Skies: When To Watch October’s full moon is preparing to light up the night, and catching its autumn glow won’t require staying awake until its official peak. The Hunter’s Moon arrives Monday, Oct. 26, according to NASA’s October skywatching guide. Its name reflects a season when hunters used bright moonlight to track game across fields cleared by the fall harvest. America's Richest Households Share This Trait, Survey Finds The Americans leading the household wealth rankings share a trait that a paycheck alone cannot explain. October’s Meteor Show Returns: How To Catch The Orionids' Peak Performance One of autumn’s signature meteor showers is approaching its peak, but catching its brightest moments will take more than a quick glance outside. The Orionids peak overnight Wednesday, Oct. 21, into Thursday, Oct. 22, NASA says. Known for their speed and brightness, the meteors can leave glowing trails and occasionally produce brilliant fireballs. The shower typically delivers about 10 to 20 meteors per hour under dark skies. This year, however, moonlight will make some of the fainter streaks harder to spot. A waxing gibbous moon will brighten the sky during part of the peak night, accordin…
