Dick's Closes $2.5B Foot Locker Deal In Major Sporting Goods Merger Dick's Sporting Goods has finalized its purchase of Foot Locker, creating a global sports retail giant with more than 3,200 stores in 20 countries. The Pittsburgh-based chain completed the $2.5 billion deal to acquire the sneaker chain on Monday, Sept. 8. Dick's will keep Foot Locker's brands, including Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Champs Sports, WSS, and atmos.
