On-Duty CT State Trooper Involved In Crash An on-duty Connecticut State trooper was found at fault after being involved in a crash with another vehicle. The crash took place in New Haven County around 4:45 p.m., Tuesday, May 17 in Milford near Anderson and Merwin avenues when the trooper allegedly "failed to obey a traffic signal," said Officer MariLisa Anania, of the Milford Police. The trooper, who was not named, suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital, Anania said. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured. The trooper was found at fault in the crash, Anania said.

CT Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash A Connecticut man was killed after his vehicle traveled off the roadway hitting a utility pole and a mailbox. Windham County resident Michael Steele, age 40, of the Town of Brooklyn, was killed around 7 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 26 on Wauregan Road in Brooklyn, said the Connecticut State Police. An investigation revealed that Steele, who was traveling southbound on Wauregan Road, traveled off the roadway at which time he struck a tree and telephone pole causing the vehicle to roll over, state police said. Steele was pronounced dead at the scene.

One Injured In Fairfield County After Crashing Into Construction Ditch One person was injured in Fairfield County after allegedly ignoring traffic cones and their vehicle ended up in a construction ditch, according to authorities. The crash took place around 9:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 13 on Locust Avenue, in New Canaan, said Lt. Jason Ferraro, of the New Canaan Police. The vehicle sustained front-end damage.
