Rounds Of Storms Knock Out Power In Fairfield County: Communities Most Affected
Rounds of storms, some of which were severe, have caused numerous power outages in Connecticut.
As of around 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, Eversource reported around 1,800 customers affected, and United Illuminating another 116.
Here are the communities with the most outages:
Lebanon (New London County, 459
Stamford (Fairfield County), 157
Montville (New London County), 129
Milford (New Haven County), 114
Franklin (New London County), 68

Fatal Crash Update: Stamford Officer Who Hit Beloved Pastor Placed On Leave
A Stamford Police officer who struck and killed a beloved pastor in his patrol SUV has been placed on administrative leave while the crash is under investigation.
The Rev. Tommie Jackson was hit around 4:15 p.m., Wednesday, July 26, in Stamford on Wire Mill Road by a Stamford Police SUV driven by Officer Zachary Lockwood, age 24.
Lockwood, of Stamford, has been an officer with the department since April of last year, said Stamford Police Chief Timothy Shaw.
At the time of the crash, Lockwood, who was responding to a call, was traveling eastbound on Wire Mill Road, police said. …

A well-known pastor and fixture in Fairfield County politics has been identified as the 69-year-old Stamford resident hit and killed by a Stamford Police vehicle.
Tommie Jackson was hit around 4:15 p.m., Wednesday, July 26, in Stamford on Wire Mill Road by a Stamford Police SUV driven by Officer Zachary Lockwood, age 24.
At the time of the crash, Lockwood, who was responding to a call, was traveling eastbound on Wire Mill Road, police said. In this area of Wire Mill Road, there is a right curve.
