A Connecticut man was killed after his SUV crashed and burst into flames on Thursday evening, Oct. 11, in Litchfield County a little more than a mile from his home, authorities said. Scott James White, age 67, of Harwinton, crashed his Honda Pilot just after 6:30 p.m. on Hill Road (Route 222), Connecticut State Police said. Four people who were not wearing life jackets were rescued from the waters of the Long Island Sound in Fairfield County. The incident occurred in Norwalk on Saturday, Aug. 3. A missing kayaker died after his vessel capsized while he was reaching for a lost paddle, authorities said. The incident took place in New Haven County in Guilford on Quonnipaug Lake on Sunday, May 23.
