Third New Haven Shooting In 3 Days: Teen Undergoes Emergency Surgery After Being Shot A 17-year-old Connecticut boy is recuperating after undergoing emergency surgery following a shooting on Tuesday, Sept. 3. It was the third shooting in New Haven this week, police said.  Officers received a ShotSpotter alert around 5:45 p.m. near Sherman and Edgewood Avenues, where they found the boy suffering from a bullet wound, New Haven police said.  Paramedics rushed the teen to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where doctors performed emergency surgery to save his life. Man Found Shot Dead On New Haven Roadway A 23-year-old man was found shot dead on a roadway after police in Connecticut responded to a Shotspotter alert. The incident took place in New Haven around 3:15 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 1, on Grand Avenue between Poplar Street and Blatchley Avenue. Officers responding to the area located Dontae Myers, of New Haven, who had been shot, said Officer Scott Shumway, of the New Haven Police.
