Widespread Bank Of America Outages Being Reported
Many Bank of America customers are reporting issues accessing their accounts. First reports of the problems began just before 1 pm. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, with about 20,000 customers sharing outages on the website Downdetector.com. Some said they were stunned to see zero balances on their accounts. Others said they could not see their account balances. Issues with online and mobile systems, and ATM services are being reported. Thieves Seek Personal Info In String Of Mail Thefts In Fairfield County, Police Say
A police department in one Fairfield County town is warning residents of a rash of mail thefts from residential mailboxes. The Greenwich Police Department, which has patrol officers looking for suspicious activity, said the thieves are looking for outgoing checks or protected personal information. The department is recommending that if possible, residents switch to online banking or bring their bills to the Post Office for mailing. Online Bank Of America Outage Affects Thousands
Thousands of customers were locked out of their accounts when Bank of America’s online banking system temporarily went down. Early on Friday, Oct. 1, the company’s system experienced the issues, according to Bank of America, leading to more than 12,000 customers making complaints to Down Detector, which found that they were unable to access balances or transfer money as many were looking to pay rent on the first of the month.
