Two homes were damaged overnight after lightning struck during a sudden thunderstorm that blew through the area, causing damage from multiple lightning strikes. A late-night apartment fire sent firefighters rushing to a two-story building, where pets were rescued and residents escaped unharmed, authorities said. More Than 20 People Displaced In CT House Fire
More than 20 people were displaced after a fire damaged a multi-family home in Norwalk on Tuesday, April 29. The fire began at a three-story home at 30 Lexington Ave. just after 2:30 p.m. The fire began on the first floor, and many people on the second and upper floors did not realize the building was in flames. A dog was killed in a Connecticut house fire early Thursday morning, Jan. 16, despite the efforts of firefighters and its owner, authorities said. Firefighters were called to 17 Dairy Road in Norwalk just after midnight to find two residents desperately trying to extinguish flames to save their family dog. Firefighters raced to a Connecticut marina after a blaze began inside a boat. The fire began in Middlesex County on Monday, Nov. 25 just before 12:30 p.m., when a boat was seen on fire at a marina in Old Saybrook, according to the Old Saybrook Fire Department. A Connecticut resident received heavy burns to his head and face while escaping from his burning home. The incident occurred in New Haven County on Lynn Terrace around 6 p.m., Thursday, in Seymour.
