Man Steals Electronics From Elementary School, Caught In CT, Police Say
A Connecticut man has been arrested in connection with a burglary at a Westchester County, NY school earlier this month, police announced.
The incident happened on the night of Monday, Sept. 8, when the Bruno M. Ponterio Ridge Street School in Rye Brook, part of the Blind Brook School District, was broken into, the Rye Brook Police Department said on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Several electronic devices belonging to the school district were stolen, according to authorities.

Man Wanted In Waterbury Murder Arrested Following Florida Traffic Stop; 2 Men Remain On Run
Florida police have arrested a man wanted in a 2018 Connecticut murder, while two other suspects remain on the run, authorities said.
Kevin Dias, 33, was arrested during a traffic stop in Mascotte, Florida, Waterbury police said Wednesday, July 9. Dias is charged with conspiracy to commit murder and is being held in Florida on $1.5 million bond.
He is expected to be extradited to Connecticut, although an exact date has not been announced.
Dias is accused of fatally shooting Henrry Ayala on Nov. 5, 2018, outside a home on Knollwood Circle in Waterbury, according to authorities.

The body of Yuleisy Carolina Torrelles-Martinez was discovered on Saturday, April 5, inside her living room couch in the 4400 block of Frankford Avenue, after friends grew concerned when she hadn't answered the door for days. A Fairfield County man wanted for allegedly having inappropriate contact with multiple juveniles was arrested in Georgia after an intense manhunt led by local and federal authorities, police said.
Moises Ruiz, 37, of Norwalk, was tracked to Gwinnett County, Georgia, where he was taken into custody on Jan. 15 by US Marshals, according to the Norwalk Police Department.

Thomas Hopkins, 57, of Waterbury, was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree threatening, and second-degree larceny, police said on Monday, Nov. 18.

Man Guilty In Fatal Shooting Of New Haven Husband, Father Of 3
A 49-year-old Maryland man was found guilty of gunning down a Connecticut father of three in 2020, authorities said.
Rashad Hardy was found guilty on Aug. 28 of murder, carrying a pistol with a permit, and criminal possession of a firearm, the Connecticut State Attorney's Office said.
Hardy was convicted of killing Ricky Newton, age 36, of New Haven, on Rosette Street in July 2020, police said.
