Dozens of animals were rescued from a Fairfield County home following reports of a cruelty incident, police announced.
Chief Robert Kalamaras reported that the Fairfield Police and Animal Control rescued over 80 animals from a home on Churchill Street shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, by members of the Fairfield Fire Department, who were assisting the resident of the home following a medical emergency.
According to Fairfield Police investigators, upon arrival at the scene, officers entered the home and found its interior to be in a state of squalor with animal waste throughout.…

Animal control officers saved more than 30 animals from a single “inhabitable” Connecticut home.
On Monday, Oct. 26, six area animal control divisions teamed up to conduct a search and seizure warrant at 200 Blue Hills Ave., in Hamden.
Officers rescued 26 cats, 6 dogs, 2 caged squirrels, and an owl. They found four deceased animals: a dog, two cats, and a woodchuck, Hamden Police said.

Lawnmower Fire Extends To Norwalk Home, Causing Extensive Damage
A lawnmower fire in the garage of a Norwalk home, traveled to the house, causing extensive damage.
The Norwalk Fire Department responded to the fire around 3:46 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 4 Bayberry Lane, said Norwalk Fire Department Deputy Chief Edward Prescott.
When firefighters arrived, the two-car garage below the ranch-style house was fully involved in fire and extending up the side of the home, Prescott said.
