Drunk Naugatuck Motorist Injures Trooper, State Police Say An area man was arrested after he was spotted allegedly swerving all over I-84, nearly hitting several vehicles while drunk and then injured a Connecticut state trooper. Daniel G. Rapuano, 36, of Naugatuck, was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 19, after state police responded to numerous 911 calls reporting an erratic driver on I-84, who was swerving across all three lanes and had nearly struck numerous vehicles, said the Connecticut State Police. Several troopers responded to the area and spotted Rapuano east of West Hartford and were able to box him in and forced him to stop, state police said.…

Severe Thunderstorm Watch Now In Effect For Parts Of Region A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is now in effect for parts of the region and may be expanded as several lines of storms, currently mainly north of I-84, are moving from west to east. Currently, the watch is in effect for Dutchess and Ulster counties in the Hudson Valley, Litchfield and Hartford counties in Connecticut, and Hampden, Hampshire and Worcester counties in Massachusetts. Tractor-Trailer Crash Causes Heavy Delays On I-84 Stretch This story has been updated. There were heavy delays during the morning commute on a stretch of I-84 after a tractor-trailer crashed off the roadway. The left lane was closed for several hours on the westbound side in Northern Fairfield County at Exit 3 in Danbury at Route 7 south starting around 6 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18. Route 7 was accessible but down to one lane.  Motorists were advised to use caution in the area, the Danbury Fire Department said.
