New Update: Well-Known Pastor, Struck Killed By Stamford Police SUV
A well-known pastor and fixture in Fairfield County politics has been identified as the 69-year-old Stamford resident hit and killed by a Stamford Police vehicle.
Tommie Jackson was hit around 4:15 p.m., Wednesday, July 26, in Stamford on Wire Mill Road by a Stamford Police SUV driven by Officer Zachary Lockwood, age 24.
At the time of the crash, Lockwood, who was responding to a call, was traveling eastbound on Wire Mill Road, police said. In this area of Wire Mill Road, there is a right curve.

Police have identified a woman who was killed after her vehicle crashed into a tree on New Year's Day in Fairfield County.
The crash took place in Stamford around 6:10 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 1 in the area of 171 Greenwich Ave.
Stamford resident Marcela Parra, age 31, was killed when the 2019 Honda she was driving southbound on Greenwich Avenue crossed over to the northbound side of the road, mounted the sidewalk, and struck a tree head-on, said Sgt. Jeffrey Booth of the Stamford Police.
Parra was pronounced dead at the scene, Booth said.

Police have identified an 80-year-old Fairfield County killed after hitting a tree at a popular park.
John Robert Salley, of Stamford, was killed around 1:50 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 20 in Cummings Park in Stamford.
Salley was driving a 2019 Subaru through the park on Shippan Avenue when he failed to negotiate a curve, then sped up, drove through a small parking lot, then struck a tree, said Sgt. Jeffrey Booth, of the Stamford Police.

Police have identified the victim of a fatal single-vehicle crash in Fairfield County in which the driver allegedly lost control of his pickup truck and smashed into a median divider and was thrown from the vehicle and pinned underneath.
Oscar Reyes, age 39, of Stamford, was killed around 12:32 a.m., Monday, July 19, on Washington Boulevard in Stamford, said Sgt. Jefferey Booth.
According to Booth, a 2005 Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on Washington Boulevard, just north of the intersection with Bridge Street.

The crash took place around 10:55 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, in the area of 162 Grove St., in Stamford, said Stamford Police Sgt. Jeffrey Booth.
According to Booth, a 2005 Dodge Durango, being driven by a 35-year-old Stamford resident, was traveling southbound on Grove Street when it struck the person.
