Westport 5th-Grade Girls' Basketball Team Goes to 10-0

WESTPORT, Conn. – The Westport Police Athletic League fifth-grade girls' basketball team improved to 10-0 by winning a pair of games last weekend.

Westport beat Trumbull, 38-6, in a Fairfield County Basketball League game and Danbury, 20-16, in a non-league contest.

Before breaking for the holidays, Westport defeated Trumbull, the Fairfield Lynx and New Canaan. Westport surrendered 19 points in those three wins.

Westport is yielding an average of just 10 points per game. Shelton and the Fairfield Sun are also undefeated in league play. Westport meets St. Mary’s of Ridgefield and the Fairfield Lynx this weekend. It has games against Shelton on Jan. 25 and the Fairfield Sun on Jan. 27.
