REDDING, Conn. Joel Barlows girls won the team title while Logan Fulton captured the individual crown and the boys won the team crown in the unseeded races of Saturdays Wickham Invitational cross country meet in Manchester.
The Falcons won the team title with 73 points, cruising to an easy victory over Frontier Regional School.
Olivia Wilson (12th overall, 21:47) and Caitlin Neary (14th overall, 22:05) led Barlows girls. Other scorers for Barlow included Marissa Dibella (25th), Gabrielle Lemma (28th) and Sophia Ota (47th). Barlows other runners in the varsity race included Maddie Price and Erika Marini. All of Barlow's varsity runners for the Wickham meet are underclassmen. The girls race five kilometers (3.1 miles).
Fulton breezed through the 5k course in 17:11, winning by 18 seconds over Cameron Swift of Oxford. The Falcons won with 224 points. Following Fulton were Colin Rooney (20th), Henry Pronovost (56th), Colby Johnson (75th) and Greg Sullivan (96th). Christoph Dow and Cormac Cummiskey were Barlows other team members. Barlows girls (10-2) conclude the league regular season at New Fairfield High School. Barlows boys (6-3) also conclude the league season on Tuesday at New Fairfield. Both teams will run in the league championship meet on Oct. 18 at Bethel High School.
